Thrilled to share that I received Explore strand funding from Immersive Arts to support the early stages of developing my new project surrender(d).

This fund gave me the space (and time) to dig into immersive technology; not to master it, but to get lost in it a bit, to see what happens when you let go of polished outcomes and just explore. I spent the last few months testing things, failing, building again, and following where the work wanted to go.

As part of this, I visited some incredible exhibitions and shows in Isle of Lewis, Liverpool, and Bradford; each one nudging the project in new directions.

The support also helped me get my hands on some essential tools; sensors, software, books — things that will stay with me long after this phase ends.

I shared a work-in-progress at Surge in Glasgow, and the feedback there was generous, thoughtful, and exactly what I needed. Thank you to everyone who engaged with the piece; it really mattered.

Since then, I’ve been pulling the threads together, reworking the installation, experimenting with interaction, sound, and space. It’s not done yet. But it’s getting there.
